Getting in shape after the holidays

So, here we are at the beginning of a new year. And make no mistake, this is MY year!

This is the year I (finally) get into shape!
This is the year that my business takes off!
The year that I get the dream girlfriend… oh yes, she will be mine!

As some of you that can be bothered to read my blog, my crash diet didn’t go quite as planned before Christmas. Instead of taking a predetermined break I failed and as a result acted like Robert Downey Jr. in a coke store. I ate so much the last week of the year I felt like a bear getting ready for hibernation.

Now 2 weeks later, as the new year is beginning I’m a whopping 5 kg heavier than I was before I started my bing.
So I’ve been going to the gym almost every day for the last 10 days. When I started again, my legs felt tired just by walking up the stairs to the workout room so I decided to go straight to the weights. And I only managed to do about 70% of what I’m used to!!! This sucks so much!

Then after a much needed pumping iron session I went on the bike. I usually peddle at level 15 and even 16 for about 1/4 of the time at about 95 rpm. NOW I felt dead after only 1-2 minutes so I decreased the level to 13.
It’s funny (not haha funny, but interesting funny) how your body can adjust to the work you put on it and I gradually increased the difficulty to 15.
I’m actually very proud of myself because it would have been so easy just to quit or only do 10 minutes and hit the sauna. But I stuck with it and finished my 30 minutes I had planned (and then hit the sauna!).

Now a few days later, I’m doing the summit machine once again and starting to lose a little weight, which feels so good as I’m now at the lowest weight I’ve been since in my teens!!!

Yeah for me…. time for a beer!! ;)

About fatguy

I was like you. I had been dieting for over 20 years, tried everything, given up, put on weight and got depressed. And today I am you in a few months IF you decide that losing weight and getting fit is really what you want. I am not a body builder, jock or a model. You won't see me on the cover of Muscle & Fitness or advertising any new magic diet solution. I don't want to be toned and tan. I want to enjoy life and enjoying food is a large part of that. But I have through trials (and many failures) found a nice balance between healthy living and enjoying good food. On these pages I hope to share with you how I lost the 66lbs/30kg that I've lost so far. I am not finished and hope that you can come along and join me on the ride that is left. And hopefully, I can help you get started or stay on track. I hope you find encouragement in these pages and that I've shown you that an average guy can lose the weight and get so much more out of life.
