This is usually the problem area for most overweight guys. I know if was for me.
I didn’t have a huge social life so I was at home a lot in the evenings and usually sat in front of the TV skipping between channels hoping to stumble upon a rerun of Baywatch. And what is more complementing with Pamela Anderson’s tight body than a pizza in one hand and a coke in the other! Well, that at least to me was a pretty good night.
The number one enemy of the fat guy is boredom. Boredom leads to TV watching which in turn leads to eating (well, watching Pam in that swimsuit sometimes leads to something else). In fact, looking back, I probably ate about 60-70% of my daily Calories during the evening in front of the TV.
If you take away those extra Calories, I probably wouldn’t have been that much over my daily Calorie needs.

Today, I don’t watch that much TV and if I do I am usually always doing something non-productive also on my laptop or iPad. But that means that my hands are busy and I’m not sitting idle in front of the idiot box reaching for the Snickers bar.
Now I can even sit down on a slow weekend day, watch a movie on my TV without my laptop and not have the need to eat anything. This wouldn’t have crossed my mind a few years ago.
Through my process of slimming down I’ve learnt a lot of tricks and nifty tips that help you get through the time you spend at home, and how to spend your time at home so that you not only eat less but even burn Calories while you’re watching TV!
If you always reach for the snack while watching TV – take those variables out of the equation!
You need to realize that if you buy something from the supermarket, YOU WILL EAT IT! And most likely you’ll eat it sooner than later.
And if the problem is TV, get your butt off the sofa and find yourself a hobby.
Boost your social life
I don’t know which came first. Me being fat because I didn’t have an active social life or me not having an active social life because I was fat (and feeling like a miserable fuck).
These last months I’ve made a real effort to go more out, meet up with old buddies and just keep myself busy and around people.
So, not only have I changed my behavior during the evenings but I’m not that often at home the whole evenings so this isn’t that much of a problem to begin with.
